Born and raised in the Philippines. He discovered photography when he migrated to Auckland, New Zealand in 2005. He started from street photography which motivates him to study and completed his Diploma in Digital Photography and Visual Arts at Raffles College of Design and Commerce in Auckland.
While studying, he gained experience in photographing events and runway shows for New Zealand Fashion Week.
Even though he was interested in still life and architectural photography, he later became driven to take photographs of people and became passionate in taking portraits as an artistic medium.
Lawrence is fascinated by the renaissance paintings, the fashion industry, pop culture, and the gay community which inspires him with his photography.
His portraits allows a narrative which able to tell a story through the images that he capture. It allows the viewers to create interpretation by a connection through the eyes and expression of the portrait.
Lawrence is now based in Melbourne, continuing his journey as an artist and part-time photographer.
